Main Street Fayetteville is excited to host the 2018 Fayette Idol competition, and we welcome all local singing talent to submit an entry to be crowned this year’s Fayette Idol!

Fayette Idol is Saturday, September 29 at 6:00 p.m.   There will be three categories to compete; ages 7 to 11 years; 12 to 15 years; and 16 to 21; and 21+.  Click here to download an entry form ! (Entries accepted until September 7)

A First Place winner from each category will be selected.  One Overall Winner for the Title of “Fayette Idol” will be chosen from among the four category winners.

Cash prizes, as well as other wonderful gifts will be given to the First Place Winner and the Overall Winner for “Fayette Idol”.

The Overall Winner will have the opportunity to perform at Main Street’s Lighting of the Tree, and will participate in our annual parade as one of the Grand Marshals on December 1, as well as other city-sponsored events throughout the remaining 2018 year and 2019.

General admission to the competition is $5 for adults and $2 for children 12 and under.
The gates will open at 5:00 p.m. and the competition will begin at 6:00 p.m.

Parking is free at Southern Ground Amphitheater. The main parking lot is located adjacent to the venue, on Tiger Trail directly across from Fayette County High School. Lower level seating is ADA accessible from this parking lot and entrance. Limited ADA parking is also available at the upper entrance/box office location, as well as an ADA drop off point for entry to the upper and lawn level seating.



We want everyone to enjoy the beautiful, state-of-the art, outdoor Southern Ground Amphitheater. To keep its unique ambiance, we ask that you respect your surroundings and the surroundings of others.

  • No refunds or exchanges on tickets are allowed.  This is a fundraiser, so please don't ask.
  • Concerts are rain or shine. For inclement weather, please bring a rain jacket or poncho. Due to safety and sightline concerns, umbrellas are not permitted.
  • All children in the reserved section must have their own seat ticket.  Children five years old and over in the lawn section must have a ticket.
  • No pets, smoking or umbrellas are allowed.
  • Guests may bring in small coolers or picnic baskets with their own food and drink. Food and drink are also available for purchase inside the Amphitheater.
  • Please place trash in appropriate receptacle.
  • Folding chairs and small tables are acceptable for lawn seating.
  • Gates open at 5:00 p.m.
  • Contestant performances begin at approx. 6:00 p.m.
